Traditional art

Talent is a natural predisposition - if you have it, you will achieve your goal faster than someone who doesn't. Luckily, I don't have it. Luckily, because the only way to overcome a lack of talent is through hard work. I've worked past my 10,000 hour mark, and I'm patiently working towards my 20,000.

There are many reasons that drive my art-making. First of all, there's a feeling of supreme satisfaction once a piece is finished. You've managed to arrange chaos in meaningful order through collaborating with your chosen medium. Another reason is the pure joy of working with watercolors, acrylics, oils, dry and oil pastel, ink, graphite, and so on. Also, making art, to me at least, is the process of making sense of the world. I often go deep in thought, and I find myself in need of a raft to sail it with, and in need of a map to sail it by. Art plays both of these roles for me.
